Fiction reveals the truth that reality obsures. -Jesamyn West
Meditate on Scripture
Jeremiah 29:11
"I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
The next time that you are tested by the circumstances in your life, think about this analogy. God is like a blacksimith and you are a lump of silver. The silver is vaulable
just the way it is, but the blacksmith knows that if he can form it into something useful and beautiful, it will reach its full potential.
The same is true of God; He created us in His own image and expects to see the beauty in us shine.
Now, the blacksmith knows that in order to create a beautiful image, he must hold the silver over fiery hot flames. Like God's children that are placed in some pretty stressful situations.
After the silver is heated, the blacksmith begins to mold and shape the object of his desire until he is able to see a reflection of himself.
As with God, he wants to see His image in us that reflects love, kindness, faithfulness, long suffering, and so much more, all the while, like the blacksmith, the Lord has got his hands on us
the whole time. And when he gets us to the place he desires for us, He will get the glory and we will have peace.
